A small team, building AI-native analytics platforms for select clients and our own products.
Spillsoft Systems Inc. is based in Airdrie, Alberta. We're a small studio focused on the development of AI-native analytics platforms that are fast, trustworthy, and worth paying for.
What we do.
Most of our work falls into one of three buckets: building and operating AI-native analytics platforms for clients, designing the data, query, and LLM layers that make them work end-to-end, and developing our own products — like Sifter — that try to push those same ideas further.
We think the platforms that win the next decade will be the ones that combine classical analytics with AI in a way that actually holds up — where the LLM is a first-class part of the product, whether the user is talking to it or not, backed by the structured workflows, data quality, and UI that make the experience trustworthy. That intersection is where we focus.
How we engage.
Spillsoft is intentionally small. We typically work with one or two clients at a time — long enough to understand the domain, deeply enough to be useful, and structured so it doesn't crowd out our product work. If that sounds like the shape of help you need, talk to us.
Where we are.
Airdrie, Alberta — just north of Calgary. Mountain Time. We work remotely with clients anywhere the timezones make sense.
Lee Gray
Founder · Principal developer
Lee has been building, shipping, and growing software products since 2001 — with a long track record of starting something from scratch and scaling it up. The last decade-plus has been spent designing analytics platforms inside larger companies, most recently as Director of Software Development at Enverus, before founding Spillsoft. He's the kind of builder who'd rather ship the system than the slide deck about it, though he'll do both when it helps.
At Spillsoft, Lee leads the technical work — architecture, platform development, and the day-to-day building. He's the primary contact for clients and the person you'll actually be working with.

Building & growing, repeatedly
A long run of starting things and scaling them. Co-founded a small e-commerce business in 2001 and ran it profitably for years. Worked on a datacenter startup, which is where the working appreciation for what's actually behind "the cloud" comes from. Did independent contract development for a range of clients. Then several years at Memory Express, building their e-commerce arm from zero to a major line of business.
Roles before Spillsoft were as an employee of those companies — they belong to Lee's personal track record, not Spillsoft engagements.
